Background

Founded in May 2004 in Kabala, Koinadugu District Women’s Network (KDWN) is a coalition of women groups from diverse walks of life. We are established across all ten chiefdoms of Koinadugu District, working for peace, security, and the empowerment of vulnerable women.

Koinadugu District faces challenges with discriminating laws and customs. Women are disproportionately affected by sexual and gender-based violence. We formed KDWN to create spaces that enhance safety, dignity, confidence, and self-esteem.

  • Vision

Envisage a district where every woman and girl lives in dignity, and equality, realizing their full potential and contributing to a just and inclusive society.

  • Mission

To empower women and girls through education, advocacy, and community initiatives that promote gender equality, challenge discrimination, and create lasting opportunities for growth and leadership.

  • Our Values

We promote Honesty, Integrity, and Openness in all we do. These principles guide our interactions with the community and our partners.
